FOKAL’s ImajiNASYON initiative will develop the moral character of a generation of Haitian young people from underprivileged backgrounds by sparking community action that promotes sustainable improvements in living conditions and affirms the equality of all Haitians.

FOKAL is uniquely positioned to build a positive narrative for Haiti by leveraging our 25 years of engagement in local communities: nurturing, scaling up, connecting, moving forward together. ImajiNASYON will engage our dynamic partner organizations into a community of practice of youth, activists, scholars, artists, and smallholder farmers and will counteract the effects of racial inequity through an approach unshaped by conceptions from the outside.

ImajiNASYON will leverage one of Haiti’s biggest assets – young people – to connect with citizens in rural regions through community action intersecting with revisiting our national narrative and in the process build their empathy, compassion, and moral character.
